Calvin's 8th month

Time has really flown by! Calvin turned 8 months old on the 16th. He is growing so fast. He is cruising like a pro. He pulls up and then gets back down easily now. He also can climb stairs and he loves making me chase him. Pulling clean clothes out of the laundry basket is tons of fun to him. He also feeds himself finger foods now and he really enjoys trying new foods. I think he might end up walking when he is 9 or 10 months old. He hasn't gotten brave enough to let go when he stands yet but I think he is getting there. He has been so active lately that he has slimmed down a bit. He was wearing 12 and 18 month clothes but now he is fitting back into his 6/9 month stuff. He had his first haircut on the 27th. He looks like such a handsome big boy now. Took him trick or treating at Chase's work yesterday. He wasn't too sure what to think but he loves playing with the suckers he got. Have an appointment set up to get his 9 month pictures taken. Planning on getting a lot smaller package this time.

I met a mom named Kyrie on the WTE site. She has a little girl named Evelyn. We discovered that we both live in Ohio, our babies were born on the same day and in the same hour, and we are both young moms! We decided to have a meetup and we just happened to schedule it for Calvin and Evelyn's 8 month "birthday." Kiki went with me. We met at Chapel Hill Mall in Akron. Evelyn and Calvin rode the carousel. They smiled and laughed the whole time. It was adorable. Then because we couldn't find a place for them to play together in the mall we drove around for awhile and finally stopped at a Wendys. We went down in the little sunroom area and let them play. They had so much fun together! They really hit it off and Kyrie and I have a lot in common. We definitely plan to do this again soon.

Photo Editing Addiction!!

Ok I seriously have an addiction to photo editing! I've learned how to do some awesome stuff in gimp and I just love it! I think I would do it all day if I could! Today a WTE momma let me edit a couple of pics of her daughter and she liked the end results. Not sure what my point is just had to get that out. 

Updates

So life around here has been pretty crazy! My 17 year old sister ran away, came back, and is now living with me. She is also pregnant. She had an ultrasound and she was only measuring 5 weeks when she should have measured 8 so she has to go back for another ultrasound October 5th. Strange because that will be exactly a year to the date since I found out I was having a boy. I can't believe my little man is 7 months old! He has been doing so many new things! He has been crawling like a big boy, he pulls up on everything and has gotten faster and faster at it. He even climbed a couple stairs yesterday! He also says "byebye" and waves though he doesn't know what it means yet. He really enjoys his babyfood now. He LOVES sweet potatoes, peas, green beans, squash, and carrots. He will not eat anything that contains oatmeal, mango, or peaches.
Calvin went to the county fair twice this week. He seemed to really enjoy it and he was so good! The second day that I took him he needed to nurse. Being the shy person that I am I have never nursed in public yet so I went looking for a bathroom (ewwww). To my surprise right next to the bathroom was a mothers room! The first mothers room I have seen in the county! I was beyond excited, I was giddy. There was a rocking chair with curtains that I could draw for privacy. My day was absolutely made by that one convenience.
John and I both had our birthdays. Mine was the 11th and I turned 22 and his was the 22nd and he turned 24. I can't believe we have been together 9 years in November! Thirteen and fifteen definitely didn't seem too young to start a serious relationship back then but looking back on it I can't believe I was that young when we got together.
Not really sure why I blog as I don't have many followers. I suppose it is a good way to get my thoughts out though. I will definitely try to post more often!

6 Month Portraits

Finally getting around to posting! We were planning on having Calvin's 6 month pictures taken on the 19th. Unfortunately that didn't work out because everywhere was booked so we ended up going on the 20th. After waiting for an hour I was starting to think that Calvin was going to have a meltdown and that we wouldn't get any good pictures. When we finally got back to get the pictures taken it went great! Calvin was very cooperative and we got some adorable pictures! I really love how good Sears does.

Calvin is 6 months old!

My little boy turned 6 months old yesterday! I can't believe he is so big already! We have hit so many milestones along the way and I have enjoyed every second of his life. I am so amazed by the changes he has undergone in such a short time. We are getting so close to the mobile stage! Calvin is almost always up on all fours when he is on the floor now. He is starting to try to move forward but he keeps falling. I hold my breath waiting for him to succeed every time! We've made it 6 months breastfeeding also! He has not had a single drop of formula in his life which I must say I am super proud of. Cloth diapering has also been going great! He has been in a disposable ONCE in the past 5 days! I plan on writing an entire blog about our experiences with cloth soon. Yesterday John and I took Calvin and drove to Canton to Olive Garden to celebrate his 1/2 year "birthday." He was so good the whole time. It was really nice. We are going on Thursday to have Calvin's 6 month pictures and our first family portrait done. We are probably going to Sears because we had a great experience with them last time. I will add 6 month pictures soon!
